我的心得 / Book review
This is a novel of mystery for young teenagers. It could also be called a "Narnia thriller". When Coraline moves to a new house with her parents, she discovers a little door, where after she steps through it, she discovers a whole new world which looks exactly like her real house, parents and friend, but with a little difference: everyone treats her like she is someone's very special, and they have buttons on their faces instead of eyes. What seems marvelous at first, and up being a maze where she cannot escape. This short novel can also be compared with the worldwide known fairytale Hansel and Gretel, as the two kids where also deceived by a candy house and her owner, only to end up killing them. In the story of Coraline, is a similar theory, but full of much excitement.
如果可以改變書中的某個情節,我希望… / If I could change part of the plot, I would…
After reading Coraline, I just feel this poor girl deserves nothing but love and caring. However, her real parents don't seem to care much, and only think about themselves even after what had happened. The worse part is that they don't believe in what their daughter is telling them. I wish they could care more about Caroline.
關於這本書,我的一句總結是… / To conclude, this book …
Fairy tales are more than true: not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that drangons can be beaten.
