看完這本書後,你的想法是什麼? / Book review

This book is about a mischievous, but creative boy Nick who invented a new word “ Frindle,” (which means the same as a "pen") and caused quite a stir at schools across the country.  His teacher, Mrs. Granger, was a dictionary lover and she challenged Nick by assigning him to have a report for the next class regarding this word. She believed it would mean a lot to Nick. Years later, "Frindle" became a real word and is now widely used across all over the country, and it even made it into the dictionary.  After completing the book, one big question came into my mind:  will I be able to keep an open mind or be flexible to accept what is seemingly a wild idea of a child?  Is it right to deny the child's creativity by telling them to follow what we consider "correct?"

如果可以改變書中的某個情節,你會希望改變什麼?怎麼改變? / What if you could change part of the plot, how would you change it?

I would prefer not to change any of the plots or characters in this story because the images of Nick and Mrs. Granger create a compelling contrast under the "imagination" theme.  Nobody predicted how Nick’s wild creation would cause such a frenzy all over the country and the most touching thing for me is the profound love behind Mrs. Granger’s cold and stony face. I like the tender and poignant ending, and this keeps the inspiring image of being a teacher. This story encourages the students to develop their creativity and have fun while learning. Therefore, I could not think of anything in this story that I would like to change.
