Book review

My first pleasant encounter with this book came to me when I was in senior high, and ever since, it has become the book I turn to whenever I feel puzzled or confused toward life issues. The book talks about a success-seeking journalist who gets united with his dying teacher, and the beautiful, meaningful, and profound journey that comes with each visit between them. I don’t plan to talk about the stories shared in the books, as they are yours to discover; believe me, it is a thought-provoking journey with the amazing rhetoric and flowing descriptions. Here are some suggestions that I would love to offer if you decide to pick it up.

  1. This is a perfect book not for children, but for young adults, as most of the topics discussed in the book require certain amount of understanding in life to fully flourish. I read this book with my senior high learners now.

  1. Don’t rush. One chapter at a time. Allow the thoughts to sink in.

  1. It is a great source for discussions. Talk about the topics raised in each chapter. If you are a parent, the understanding of life will eventually prove to be the best gift you offer to your offspring.

May we all find the true meaning of life from the wise and witty conversations and life stories.

What if you could change part of the plot, how would you change it?

Nothing. Even the tragic part. Sometimes we simply need a sad story to truly make us ponder. The book is exactly like the life itself: full of ups and downs. That’s what a life is, and that’s what makes this book such a great read.
