看完這本書後,你的想法是什麼? / Book review

The story is about 4 mothers who struggled to lead extraordinary lives in America and the relationships with their daughters. Chinese traditional women looked weak and timid, but actually were so strong and tough. They were smart and wise to live to themselves. On the other hand, women were deeply influenced by mothers, even though sometimes they didn’t think the ways they were treated were appropriate, they still unconsciously did the same thing to their daughters. However, love could heal all the wounds. That’s why the dramatic stories about each one in the 4 mothers and daughters were so touching!

In the last chapter, Jing-mei met her twin sisters in Shanghai. They hugged and cried. However, that may be cliché. The twin sisters should have hated the mother that left them in China. The story should have been arranged that by Jing-mei’s effort, the twin sisters eventually understand why they were left in China and then the two sisters fly to US to experience the life their mother had ever led…
